Description:
The Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are at the forefront of the current "smart" revolution, embedding digital connectivity into daily life and enabling a wide array of applications. These span from tiny smart objects, wearables, and vehicles to smart buildings, factories, transport systems, power grids, and entire smart cities. At the heart of these applications are advanced computer communications and networking technologies that facilitate not only efficient, low-latency communication but also robust and resilient systems.

Over the past decade, remarkable advancements in computing and communication have expanded the horizons and posed new challenges for IoT and CPS research. IoT systems are typically characterized by constraints in energy, computation, and communication capacity, alongside the deployment of sensors in myriad small objects. These characteristics bring about significant challenges related to energy efficiency, data management and sharing, security & privacy, etc. Conversely, CPS integrate physical processes with computational control, resulting in complex systems that demand coordinated and responsive operation.

As the environment for these systems becomes increasingly complex and diverse, challenges around interoperability, flexibility, robustness, resilience, time sensitivity, resource constraints, heterogeneity, and human-machine interaction have intensified. Addressing these challenges requires innovative theoretical and experimental approaches at both the network and system levels.

We invite submissions of pioneering research that contributes to the understanding and advancement of IoT and CPS, particularly in the following areas.
