ICCCN 2011 – Track on Energy Efficient Networking (EEN)
Driven by cost and sustainability concerns about the energy footprint of the IT infrastructure, recent years have seen significant improvements in the energy efficiency of end-hosts (desktops and servers). However, the energy consumption of the networking infrastructure itself has largely been ignored until very recently. Quantifying, understanding and improving the energy footprint of the networking infrastructure are very timely and vital topics. This conference track is seeking novel contributions on hardware design, architectures, protocols and algorithms that will improve the energy efficiency of the network and lead to a more energy proportional networking infrastructure.
Track Topics
- Energy efficient networking processor and hardware designs
- Management and Application control for energy efficiency
- Wired and Wireless protocols for reduced energy consumption
- Sustainable Communication practices
- Energy efficient network designs for large scale datacenters
- Standards, Models and Benchmarks for Network power consumption
