Modern networking technologies such as high-speed Ethernet and non-Ethernet networks (InfiniBand, Myrinet), proprietary communication systems (Blue Gene, Cray, Anton), on-chip/off-chip interconnects and communication systems, energy- and power-efficient network technologies and communication protocols and libraries for scientific and enterprise computing, are becoming increasingly important in this era.
