Message From General Chair

Welcome to the 16th International Conference on Computer Communications and Networks (ICCCN 2007) in Honolulu, Hawaii. Our technical program this year focuses on a broad range of topics in wired and wireless networking, in theory and in practice.

This year, we have introduced a number of new venues for collaboration. These include a number of Distinguished Position Talks in advanced research topics; a Funding Forum aimed towards improving communication between funding agencies and researchers; an Industry Forum focused on future technology development; and a Research Labs Panel showcasing the latest leading results from world-class research labs.

The conference would not have been possible without the extensive contributions from many volunteers. First and foremost, I would like to thank the technical program committee, led by Program Chair Dr. Haohong Wang, Program Vice-Chairs, Gary Chan, Song Ci, Byrav Ramamurthy, and Sambit Sabu, and the technical program track chairs for compiling an outstanding technical program. Special thanks to Xiaobo Zhou and Giuseppe Anastasi for organizing an unique set of workshops, and to Zhu Li and Xi Zhang for arranging the panels.

I would like to thank our four keynote speakers Dr. Robert Kahn, Dr. Vijay K. Bhargava, Dr. Aggelos Katsaggelos and Dr. Cheng-Zhong Xu along with our distinguished speakers for generously sharing their views on current research topics.

I would like to specially recognize the vision and leadership of Professor E. K. Park, Chair of the ICCCN organizing committee. I would also like to recognize the generosity of our sponsors: the IEEE Communications Society and Nokia.

I hope you attend a number of thought-provoking presentations, participate in controversial panels, have stimulating interaction with your colleagues, and above all, enjoy your visit to Hawaii.

Aloha!
